Bettina Mehne
Artist Management
Bettina Mehne has extensive experience in artist management. She previously served as Artistic Manager of Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and Head of Artistic Planning at the Wiener Konzerthaus. She later co-founded HELLO STAGE and spent five years as a director at Keynote Artist Management. She is now involved in several classical music ventures as a board member.

Born into a family of violin makers in Berlin, Bettina Mehne studied musicology and art history in Berlin and Vienna while gaining professional experience at the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and the Berliner Festwochen. After graduating, she joined the touring department of HarrisonParrott in London. She later returned to Germany to serve as Orchestra Manager at Staatstheater Mainz.
In 1999, she established the German office of Van Walsum Management within Konzertdirektion Schmid. In 2001, she joined Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen as Artistic Manager before moving on to the Wiener Konzerthaus, where she served as Head of Artistic Planning for six seasons.
At the end of the 2012/13 season, Bettina left the Wiener Konzerthaus alongside its then Director, Bernhard Kerres, to co-found HELLO STAGE, a platform for classical musicians. She also co-authored the book Be Your Own Manager: A Career Handbook for Classical Musicians with Kerres. In 2018, they received the Association of British Orchestras (ABO) Artist Manager of the Year award for HELLO STAGE.
After many years working on the orchestral and presenting side of the classical music industry, Bettina returned to direct artist management as a Director at Keynote Artist Management. Over the course of five years, she worked closely with a roster of exceptional artists, playing an active role in the development of their careers.
She is now involved in several classical music ventures as a consultant and board member.
베티나 메네(Bettina Mehne)는 베를린의 바이올린 제작자 가문 출신으로, 고향 베를린과 빈에서 음악학과 미술사를 공부했다. 학업과 병행하여 베를린 독일 교향악단(Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin)과 베를리너 페스트보헨(Berliner Festwochen)에서 근무하며 경험을 쌓았다.
졸업 후에는 런던의 해리슨패럿(Harrison Parrott)에서 일했으며, 이후 독일로 돌아와 마인츠 국립극장(Staatstheater Mainz)의 오케스트라 매니저를 맡았다.
1999년에는 콘체르트디렉치온 슈미트(Konzertdirektion Schmid) 내에 반 발숨 매니지먼트(Van Walsum Management)를 설립했다. 2001년에는 도이체 캄머필하모니 브레멘(Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen)의 예술 매니저로 합류했으며, 이후 빈 콘체르트하우스(Wiener Konzerthaus)에서 6시즌 동안 예술기획 책임자를 역임했다. 2012/13 시즌을 끝으로 당시 빈 콘체르트하우스의 총감독이었던 베른하르트 케레스(Bernhard Kerres)와 함께 콘체르트하우스를 떠나 새로운 프로젝트인 HELLO STAGE에 참여했다.
이처럼 오케스트라 운영과 공연장 예술기획 분야에서 오랜 경력을 쌓은 메네는 이후 아티스트 매니지먼트 분야로 다시 활동 영역을 넓혔다. 클래식 음악 플랫폼 HELLO STAGE를 공동 설립하고 『How to be your own manager』를 공동 집필했으며, 2018년에는 영국 오케스트라 협회(ABO)의 'Artist Manager of the Year' 수상 경력도 쌓았다.
이후 Keynote Artist Management에 디렉터로 합류하여 5년간 여러 뛰어난 아티스트들의 커리어를 도왔다. 현재는 여러 클래식 음악 관련 사업에서 활동하고 있다.
